The Process of Purchasing Custom and Made to Order from AVTR Boutique

Posted by Bobbie Stucki on

I often get the question of "Can I get this quilt, but I would like to change out just 1 color.  How will I know if I like it"

The answer is simple, I always email a picture of a quilt {or bumper, or car seat canopy, or whatever} before I sew it up.

Over the years {7 to be exact}, I have custom made many, many, many crib bedding, rag quilts, and car seat canopy's.  Through that experience I have found a system that seems to work really great for the customer, and for myself.  This little handmade business machine has become well oiled with a simple process.

So, if you are wondering what happens after you've clicked "order"  Here it is!

  1. Your order has been added to a Queue of orders.  At any given time I have between 10-50 open orders.  The current processing times will vary depending on how many open orders I have.  I will keep the Processing times page updated with the current turn around times
  2. I work on multiple orders at once, and batch cut out bedding pieces a couple times a week.  Once your bedding piece has been cut out and laid out on the ground, you will be receiving an email from me at bobbie@avisiontoremember.com.  Step 2...The waiting step...most of the time is the longest part.
  3. Once you receive your email you will be able to make any changes that you would like to the bedding piece(s).  If there is a fabric you don't love, let me know.  If there are too many of one pattern in one area, let me know.  I will make the appropriate changes and email you a new updated pic.
  4. Once the piece(s) have been approved, then it will get sewn up.
  5. Your piece(s) will be sewn; if its a rag quilt, the raw edges will be clipped; washed; and cleaned with a lint roller.
  6. Your bedding pieces will now be shipped to you via USPS.  Most items are shipped via priority mail, and your tracking number will be emailed to the email that you associated with your purchase.

I do my best to keep you informed along every step of the way.

If you have any questions along the way, feel free to email me at Bobbie@avisiontoremember.com and I will get back to you in 24-48 hours.  I try to be quick in my responses, but keep in mind that in order for me to work on orders in the queue, I may be slow to respond.... ;)
