Memory Quilts from Clothing

One of our all time favorite projects we've done is take children's clothing and create a one of a kind masterpiece memory quilt from clothing.

This project was definitely a labor of love!

We were sent over 150 pounds of kids clothing. Everything from dresses, pajamas, jeans, shirts, blankets, and everything in between.

The 5 queen size quilts we were able to create turned out amazing. I even was taken back to when my kids were little. They had some of the exact same clothing! It was a fun trip down memory lane and fun to try to piece together the clothing into different themed quilts.

Because we had so much clothing, we were able to do the quilt front and back with childrens clothing. We tried to even out the weights throughout the quilt to help the quilt wear evenly as best as possible

The first was an eclectic levi, sweater, and random fabrics quilt.

Next was a Christmas themed memory quilt from clothing. This was made up of pajamas and Christmas dresses mostly

Then we had the bright little girl clothing. Some were silky little pjs, others were brightly colored skirts. Several shirts and other pieces of clothing were also included.

The pastel quilt had many baby clothing. Onsies, pajamas, rompers, dresses, blankets, etc

The last quilt was bright and pastels. With a focus on pinks and blues.

We even cut out sweaters with zippers.  So much fun!
